Staying Motivated, Being an Inspiration to Those Around You.
The Feeling of Surrounding Yourself With a Team of HIMs Getting Better Together. This morning I shared a quote from one Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s books, The Gulag Archipelago. The quote was referencing those that were able to survive the brutality of the system, particularly during interrogations after being arrested.

What do you need to make you stronger than the interrogator and the whole trap?

From the moment you go to prison you must put your cozy past firmly behind you. At the very
threshold, you must say to yourself: “My life is over, a little early to be sure, but there’s nothing to be
done about it. I shall never return to freedom. I am condemned to die — ^now or a little later. But later
on, in truth, it will be even harder, and so the sooner the better. I no longer have any property
whatsoever. For me those I love have died, and for them I have died. From today on, my body is
useless and alien to me. Only my spirit and my conscience remain precious and important to me.”

What I gleaned from this is that our spirit and minds are something that we can truly say belong to us. We can allow these things to deteriorate and we will become weak, or we can be strong mentally and stick to our value structures. In multiple points throughout the book, Solzhenitsyn suggests that the ones who survived are the ones who relinquished the suffering and grounded themselves spiritually and mentally. So, be strong. Be disciplined. Live according to your values unerringly.

Stop pursuing happiness and start practicing contentment.  The first step of contentment is gratitude.  No matter how crazy or hard things are, there are good things to be thankful for if we will take the time to look.  The good news is the more thankful we are, the less discontent we are.  And as contentment grows, so does our sense of peace and joy.

It was a strong group this morning.  We kept is simple and grinded it out to some tunes from the 80’s and 90’s:

When it comes to sharing your faith, say the things that need to be said.  Because most often the regret of not telling someone what they need to hear about the Lord is way worse than any awkwardness that might come about from speaking the truth in love.  So say what needs to be said!  But oh yeah there are other times when you should shut up!  The Lord will give wisdom to know the difference.
glad we ended up getting something done !!!!!!
